Let's create beauty together - one stitch at a time!

Here I share 20+ years of my crochet experience, tips and tricks. Blankets and flowers are my favorites!

POM POM BLANKET

I love pom poms, and I love granny squares, but i've never tried to put them in one blanket ... until now. They look so cute and perfect together - what do you think?

The blanket I've made is pretty big - 42 granny squares (7 x 6) and the size is about 37” x 34” (94 cm x 86.5 cm), I just couldn't stop adding square after the square ( I prefer to join my squares "as you go" - way less hassle then sewing them back after they are done - and the back side looks so neat and clean!)

Granny squares themselves are a bit bigger then the traditional ones - 5" x 5" (13 cm x 13 cm), so the blanket workes up pretty fast and it will be done sooner then you think! LOL

And I added pom poms to every corner and every square all around, 26 poms total.

(I've got the poms from Amazon, they have the poms in almost every size and color possible - I've hoarded a lot of them, I just couldn't make up my mind, - so expect more pom poms projects soon in the future LOL).

MATERIALS NEEDED:

💖Yarn worsted weight (aran, #4 weight category) - i used JoAnn's Big Twist Value, but since JoAnn's is out of business, the best substitutes are Red Heart Super Saver Solids, Premiere Basix, Michaels' Loops & Threads Soft Classic ( the last two are a bit heavier so the blanket will be a bit bigger)

You will need 3 skeing of said yarn ( 21 oz / 595 g or 1190 yd / 1090 m)

💖Crochet hook 5.00 - 5.5 mm

💖Faux fur pom poms with elastic loops - I used 26 poms for 42 granny squares.
